PRE-EXISTING OBJECTS

House of Frisson is proud to offer one-of-a-kind hand cut collage artwork on pre-loved home décor objects. It is a sustainable project of up-cycling pre-existing objects rather than buying new or raw materials.

We source our objects mostly from charity shops, curating and carefully selecting the ones that fit in with House of Frisson style and standards. These objects are then up cycled by painting, decorating and applying hand cut collage artwork on them. Please, bear in mind that these objects will most likely show some signs of wear, because of the vintage/second hand nature.

ONE-OF-A-KIND

House of Frisson does not produce artwork/home decor in series. Each individual piece is one-of-a-kind, which means that there won’t be duplicated items with the same shape and same collage artwork available to buy. If you have seen a specific artwork/collage design of your taste at House of Frisson social media or store, but this product is not available to purchase anymore, you can contact us via our contact form for a commissioned piece. Subject to availability on specific shapes of plates, vases, or frames.

HANDMADE

Like any other handmade art little Imperfections can occur. These only add beauty and remind us that flaws are an integral part of being human. It is handmade art after all, not machine made. Whilst we are always looking for improvement in our finished product it is beyond us to achieve perfection.

 

COLOURS

We do our best to portrait the exact colours of the art pieces/home decor when taking photos and editing, to upload on our shop, but please, bear in mind that colours differ on computer monitors and phone screens. They will appear slightly different to the actual colours of the product.

COMMISSIONS

We accept commissions. Whether you have seen a House of Frisson collage artwork which is not available anymore, or have an idea for a collage design for a plate, a vase, or a framed artwork, please drop us a line and we can arrange a commissioned piece and discuss prices.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR HOUSE OF FRISSON ART PIECE

Please, consider your new House of Frisson an art piece when handling it. It is a work of collage applied on ceramic, glass, or wood surfaces. We treat and seal the collage designs with hard-wearing varnish to avoid scratching, yellowing, or damp damage. Whilst some of the objects can be used, like the flower vases, we strongly advise to use dry ornaments. If you’d rather display fresh flowers with your House of Frisson vase, always make sure to keep the outer areas of the vase dry to avoid water damage to the collage design. To clean the wall plates, use a dry cloth or a duster. Please note, the plates are not food safe and can’t be washed. They are for decoration purpose only.

 COPYRIGHT

House of Frisson has no intention of any unlawful use or copyright infringement on the collage artwork that we produce. We believe that using part of some copyrighted images would fall under fair use, as we produce one-of-a-kind art pieces, using portions of many different images, juxtaposed in ways that create new visuals and meanings, without affecting the potential market of any original work partially used here.
